Full Job Description
Duchy Hospital is Cornwall's only private hospital with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare treatments and services. Duchy Hospital was opened in 1981 by the late HRH Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and is located in a pleasant rural setting on the outskirts of Truro. By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The two fully equipped ultra clean air theatres are particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures such as arthroscopy, hip replacement and knee replacements. The hospital is also equipped with a day case theatre, with endoscopy facilities., We currently have a great opportunity for a Receptionist to join our team at Duchy Hospital. You will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality outcomes in a supported environment, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise. This is an busy role liaising with patients, consultants and all hospital departments. We need an individual with a professional approach, excellent verbal communication skills, initiative and the ability to work within a team. You must be computer literate - experience with Word and Outlook being essential. Previous use of an Electronic Patient Record system would be an advantage. Duties include:
- Liaising with patients by phone & letter
- Booking appointments
- Liaising with consultants and their secretaries
- Ensuring timely completion of appointments onto EPR system
- Scanning & auditing of patient information
- Preparation of clinics
- Maintaining clinics on the EPR system
- Booking appointments
- Reception duties as required
Excellent organisational skills - An excellent standard of computer literacy to include experience in Word & Excel
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills - written and oral
- The ability to work within a team
- The ability to time-manage
- Experience using a Patient Administration System (PAS) an advantage (desirable)
- Proven experience in administration and customer service
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to make decisions and use your initiative
- A flexible and positive attitude
