Full Job Description
+ Data processing coding and analysis of survey data collected (qualitative and quantitative).
+ Help with recruitment of participants.
+ Review of current teaching about GenAI within the School/University (through reviewing Moodle modules and communicating with staff).
+ Research (via a literature search) into approaches taken to GenAI teaching/support in Psychology across other institutions.
+ Co-development of learning activities and materials to support Psychology students use of GenAI in their studies.
Above all we would like to work with a student who has a genuine interest in collaborating with us on this project. You might be someone who already has an interest in GenAI or someone who is very new to the idea and keen to support other students in a similar position.
To apply you must be a Psychology student.
In addition we are seeking applicants who:
+ Are curious about the impact of GenAI on Psychology students studying and assessment.
+ Are enthusiastic about enhancing learning and teaching in Psychology.
+ Are creative problem-solvers.
+ Can demonstrate their developing interest and skills in research especially searching and reviewing literature.
+ Have a basic level of competence with Microsoft Excel and experience with or willingness to learn Qualtrics survey software.
+ Can communicate and collaborate professionally with staff and students.

In this role you will work alongside Psychology staff members (Walter van Heuven and Kate Bailey) on a project to explore Psychology students perceptions and use of generative AI (GenAI). As the use of GenAI becomes more widespread in Higher Education our ultimate aim is to understand how best we can support Psychology students to develop the skills to use GenAI responsibly and effectively. This will feed in both to skills used during students time studying and further ahead into future professional roles., 2. An outline (approx. 200-300 words) of why you are interested in the role.

We would like a student partner to continue the work with us on this project. There is some degree of flexibility in the exact tasks and activities you will be involved with as we are keen for the successful student to help shape the project; however indicative duties are indicated below.
