Full Job Description

About the Role We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and talented individual to work as part of our team providing a comprehensive technical support service to the ceramics higher education department at Morley College Waterloo. You will be joining our successful ceramics department, offering courses for adults from beginners through to advanced including specialist short courses and our higher education provision. The day-to-day purpose of the role will be to maintain the smooth running of the ceramic studios collaborating with our current ceramics technician, ordering equipment and materials for our courses and maintaining positive and regular communication with the programme manager, teaching staff, the premises team and other departments in the college and outside suppliers. Ensuring all machinery, equipment and good housekeeping practice is followed throughout the workshop spaces. Health and Safety procedures and the maintenance of COSHH and risk assessment. This role would suit someone who is used to running a studio environment, enjoys organising and keeping spaces clean and well stocked, possibly has their own business and is looking to supplement their income. The role requires an organised and efficient individual. Ceramics experience is essential, including experience in hand building, throwing, mould making and kiln packing and unloading. You will be working as part of the Morley College Visual Art Department working closely with the Programme Manager, teaching staff, technicians, students and others as the need arises.
