The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. The Personal Tutor Guide Writer will be responsible for creating a comprehensive guide to enhance the effectiveness of Personal Tutor (PT) meetings. This guide will serve as a valuable resource for both students and personal tutors, and contain an overview of topics that would be helpful to discuss during PT time. The role will involve using survey feedback from students in designing the guide, and ensuring it is suitable to be used and promoted during enrolment, at welcome, induction, and throughout the academic year. Key Responsibilities: 1. Content Development:

• Provide an overview of helpful discussion topics for PT meetings.
• Design a guide usable from enrolment to graduation and beyond.
• Incorporate feedback from student calls and questionnaires into the guide.
• Promote the PT guide during enrolment, welcome events, and throughout the academic year.
• Engage with students and tutors to ensure the guide meets their needs.

• Settling in and making new friends.
• Personal Tutoring model at Manchester Met.
• Attendance and engagement monitoring.
• Building relationships.
• Preparing for assessments and making progress.
• Academic support.
• Supporting wellbeing.
• Future planning, including RISE.
• Preparing for the next academic year.

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements: Essential:
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess excellent organisational skills with an ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• An ability to forge working relationships and engage professionally with staff from the Union and the University.
• Experience in gathering and incorporating feedback to inform written work.
• Be a current Undergraduate
• Desirable:
• Previous experience in writing or editing guides, articles, or similar content.
• Familiarity with the Personal Tutoring model at Manchester Met.
• Experience in promoting events or resources.
• Personal Attributes:
• Proactive, able to take initiative and is self-motivated.
• Understands and addresses the needs of fellow students.
• Creative and able to design engaging and informative content.
