Nominations invited for JPN Showcases Nov 6/7 2025

Jazz Promotion Network

Deadline: 31 July 2025 at 17:00

Nominations are invited for jazz artists to take part in the showcase programme at the 2025 JAZZ PROMOTION NETWORK CONFERENCE at the RWCMD on November 6 and 7. Deadline 5 pm July 31.

Since 2023 the annual JPN Conference has featured a showcase programme featuring artists from the UK/Ireland. Our aim is to grow this into an event where promoters can see the very best of UK/Irish jazz in one place over two days. The 2025 Conference is in Cardiff on Nov 6 & 7 2025 and subject to funding 2 jazz ensembles will perform from Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland.

The nomination form is at http://bit.ly/3Uf9RDD

Deadline for nominations: 5 pm Thurs July 31 2025.

Nominations (which can include self-nomination) can be for up to three bands/artists (maximum size 5 members) working in jazz/ improvised music who are felt to be at just the right stage of their career to be able to take advantage of the opportunity and meet the criteria below. Chosen showcase artists will be paid a uniform per head fee based on current industry minimum rates.

A panel made up of representatives from each nation will meet to select the programme in late August. Their decisions will be influenced by frequency of nominations, quality and originality of the musical content and relevant balancing criteria to ensure a diverse representation of artists across the UK and Ireland.

The artist must meet the following criteria:

  • The nominated artist (solo or band) should have a minimum of 2-3 years active performing, have received regional media/press coverage, or prior festival bookings. They should already be established in their home area/country.

  • The artist should have a well rehearsed set, have high quality marketing/PR/ social media assets and be ready to tour.

  • The artist should be performing their own original compositions, or innovative reworkings of other music, of a high calibre. We encourage nominations that demonstrate distinctive artistic vision, risk-taking, or innovation within their genre, particularly where it connects with wider cultural, political, or social narratives.

  • The artist should be at a key point in their career, eg have a recent release(s), strong upward momentum, industry buzz, or transitioning from regional to national presence. where this profiling opportunity could generate a step change in their trajectory.

Any queries to ros@jazzpromotionnetwork.org.uk. Join the JPN Mailing list via https://jazzpromotionnetwork.org.uk/ to receive further information about the conference and other JPN activities.

Location: All Scotland
