Full Job Description
- Manage the coordination of import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Use freight and customs software, including Destin8 and Descartes, to track and process shipments
- Prepare and process shipping documentation including CMR, EUR1, ATR, and other transit documents
- Liaise with HMRC and other relevant authorities to ensure compliant movement of goods
- Apply knowledge of VAT, incoterms, and excise duties where relevant
- Monitor exchange rates and freight charges to ensure accurate costings
- Understand and manage import/export quotas and commodity codes
- Meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
- Utilise internal systems to track and manage shipments efficiently

- Experience in end-to-end freight forwarding operations
- Strong knowledge of import and/or export logistics
- Previous experience dealing directly with clients in road transport, sea freight, or air freight
- Familiarity with freight and customs software, such as Destin8 and Descartes
- A high level of attention to detail to ensure compliance with HMRC and international regulations, including risk identification and mitigation
- Background within logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or customs clearance
- Working knowledge of HMRC requirements and international trade procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with clients, suppliers, customs, and internal teams
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple shipments and deadlines
- A proactive approach to customer service
- Ability to work under pressure and make competent decisions quickly
