Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join the Housing Service as a Prevention Officer, a brand new role created due to demand. You will provide an effective homelessness prevention service on behalf of the Council offering a full range of housing advice and housing options both in the private and public sector in line with the requirements of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. To ensure that the Councils' responsibilities to pro-actively prevent and relieve homelessness are effective and meet best practice, working with stakeholders to identify those threatened with homelessness at an early stage. Effective early intervention is central to the success of every team within the housing service, the teams actively work to identify and address issues before they escalate, preventing crises rather than just reacting to them. About You You will need a diverse set of skills encompassing communication, empathy, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, along with technical knowledge and adaptability. These skills allow you to understand customer needs, resolve issues, build relationships, and ultimately provide an excellent service.
