Summary

Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary

Band 2 / 3 depending on qualifications and experience

4 months fixed term contract

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer to support and enhance our teams at Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary. You will be required to work at both sites as part of a three week structured rotation.

Depending on qualifications and experience you will be appointed to either a band 2 or band 3 position.

Requirement to study for an NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services if not already gained at appointment.

Your role will include providing a ward stock topping up service of pharmaceutical products, reception duties including logging information, receiving goods from the suppliers, dispensing prescriptions and housekeeping duties.

You will need good communication skills for liaising with ward staff, pharmacy staff, porters and drivers. You must be able to work accurately and quickly under pressure and be committed to the delivery of high standards in a patient focus.

Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided, plus you will be required to study for and gain the NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services. If you already hold a level 4 qualification you may be required to self-fund this qualification.

There will be a requirement to participate in extended hours working including late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester. Our 20,000 colleagues care for people in hospital and in the community, working across Bury, Rochdale, Oldham and Salford, to save and improve lives.

As a large NHS trust we are committed to enhancing the health of our local population by delivering consistently high standards of care and working closely with local authorities and key partners. We believe in our power and potential to make a difference and we're always looking for people who demonstrate our three core values - care, appreciate and inspire - to join our team.

In return, we can offer you a job role with purpose and flexibility. The size and scale of the NCA means we can provide more challenge and opportunities so your career can always be moving in the right direction. By joining us you can also access a competitive benefits package, including, a fantastic annual leave allowance, flexible working opportunities and protected hours for health and wellbeing activities, helping you to achieve more personal downtime and a better work-life balance.
