Full Job Description

To inspire, motivate and engage children and young people and their families to become more physically active through swimming, cycling, walking and/or running. The postholder will work in partnership with Active Bradford (responsible for the JU:MP programme)/British Triathlon and local community organisations to support communities to establish new swim, bike, walk/run activity and help remove barriers to participation in identified neighbourhoods of Bradford aligned to the JU:MP programme., he JU:MP programme takes a hyperlocal neighbourhood approach to tackle inequalities in physical activity for children aged 5-12 years. The postholder will work in JU:MP neighbourhoods with high levels of socioeconomic disadvantage to develop opportunities for communities to be active through swim bike walk/run. This will mean working to co-design with communities the solutions to the barriers that prevent physical activity, and addressing issues of capability, motivation and opportunity to change behaviour for the long term to improve physical activity. The role will involve working in collaboration with JU:MP individuals, communities and organisations (ICO's) to provide opportunities to children and young people and their families to try low level swim, bike, walk/run activity catered to individual needs.

This role will be responsible for the development, co-ordination and delivery of the swim bike walk/run neighbourhoods project and act as a mentor to new workforces upskilled through the project, such as Swim Bike Run Community Activators, Swim Bike Run Leaders and/or Triathlon Coaches.

Research is integral to the delivery of JU:MP and the postholder will be part of a world-leading research programme. The postholder will be expected to work closely with JU:MP's research and implementation team, to evaluate the implementation and impact of your work as part of the whole system approach to increasing levels of physical activity.

The post holder will also support wider priorities of the Bradford Swim Bike Run Framework to connect and develop opportunities for more Bradford residents to engage in Swim Bike Run/Triathlon.

£25,000 £25,000 pro rata + benefits including mileage expenses paid at 0.45p per mile (or support towards accessing public transport)
