Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity to join our expanding healthcare regulatory NMC (Nursing and Midwifery) team, undertaking fitness to practise investigations and other key tasks for a large healthcare regulator. These roles build upon our existing Tier 1 ranked professional discipline practice. This team will be at the forefront of developing our practice areas, bringing our expertise to new clients with a view to expanding our work for professional regulators. The healthcare sector is fast moving and the challenge of working for our clients provides very interesting work. The successful candidates will be highly motivated to develop their own and our teams' practices. These roles are primarily Manchester and Cardiff based however, we may accept applications from our other locations. You will have previous experience and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work. We also require you to have/be:
- Case management and progression under lawyer level supervision
- Reviewing evidence
- Drafting interview plans, interviewing witnesses and drafting statements
- Drafting progress and final reports to the client
- Corresponding with witnesses, experts, counsel and other stakeholders
- Supporting stakeholders including vulnerable witnesses
- Drafting court documents
- Assisting with drafting bundles/liaising with administrative staff clearly and collaboratively This list is not intended to be exhaustive and you will be expected to perform other duties and have other responsibilities that fall within the wider remit of the role.
- Previous experience of working as a paralegal in the healthcare, regulatory or insurance fields
- The ability to work to KPIs, other deadlines and meet a revenue target
- Excellent IT and administrative skills
- Good communication skills and able to demonstrate a person centred approach
- Good written skills
- Good analytical skills demonstrating an attention to detail
- The ability to be a really good team player
- A positive attitude and being able to respond to the needs of clients and stakeholders
