About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for a Conveyancing Assistant to join a well-established legal practice based in Gloucester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to establish themselves within a long-term legal support role. Previous conveyancing experience would be ideal; however, candidates with previous legal experience or graduates looking to develop a career within a legal assistant position will also be considered.

The successful candidate will work closely alongside a newly qualified Conveyancer, providing day-to-day support across their residential conveyancing caseload. The position will involve a mixture of conveyancing administration and secretarial duties, with additional training provided where required.

The firm is looking for someone with a positive working attitude who is keen to build their knowledge and experience while remaining within an assistant position for the foreseeable future. Longer-term progression opportunities may become available, but the immediate requirement is for someone who is happy to develop and become an established member of the team in a support capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing day-to-day administrative and secretarial support to a Conveyancer
Supporting with client onboarding and checking identification documentation
Preparing correspondence and relevant conveyancing documentation
Assisting with the administration and organisation of residential conveyancing files
Reviewing files and chasing outstanding information where required
Liaising professionally with clients, estate agents and other relevant parties
Maintaining accurate and organised client records and documentation
Providing general administrative and conveyancing support to the wider team

Skills & Requirements:

Previous conveyancing experience would be advantageous but is not essential
Legal graduates or candidates with previous legal experience will be considered
Graduates looking to establish themselves within a long-term legal assistant role are encouraged to apply
Strong administration and organisational skills
Excellent attention to detail
Confident communicating with clients and colleagues
Positive working attitude with a willingness to learn
Comfortable working in a support-focused and secretarial position
Looking for a long-term assistant role rather than immediate progression into a fee-earning position
Formal conveyancing qualifications are not essential, with additional training available where required
