Administration Assistant / Junior SecretaryApplication Deadline: 8 August 2025Department: CSG - Strategic (Advocacy / Costs / Safety, Health and Environment / Criminal / Abuse / Travel)Employment Type: PermanentLocation: Remote - England and WalesDescriptionWe are looking for an Administration Assistant/Junior Secretary to join DAC Beachcroft Claims Group, supporting our secretarial team within the Claims Solutions Group.This role will suit someone who has no previous secretarial experience but has a good typing speed and is able to type from audio dictation as well as being confident supporting a large secretarial team. The workload will initially include new matter set up, data imputing and audio typing. The role will develop with a view to progression within the team.This is a really exciting opportunity for someone looking to start their career in Law with the possibility of progressing to a Legal Secretary.What you will do?
- Preparing correspondence and documents from digital dictation alongside proofreading speech recognition dictation
- Answering/making telephone calls
- Managing the case management system (as appropriate)
- Setting up of new files/archiving of files
- Filing, photocopying, scanning and faxing
- Checking of notification in-boxes and/or homeworker in-boxes
- Ensuring client contact information is kept up to date and data is accurate
- Share knowledge within the team relating to any changes within external client set ups e.g. client contacts leaving/joining the client
- Advising Secretaries of any change of address/telephone numbers/change of name of any external client so that databases are updated.
- Initially and for the duration of the probation period you will be expected to be in the Birmingham office 4 days per week with 1 day working from home.
No previous experience is required - Audio typing experience an advantage
