This a great opportunity to learn, grow and develop in a supportive environment within a fantastic team dedicated to offering great care. If this sounds like the role for you and you would like to come on this exciting journey with us, then please do not hesitate to apply, The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to support young people to reach their goals and be able to demonstrate the following qualities required for the role, these are, experience, passion, resilience, empathy, great communication skills and an ability to be flexible and manage risk.
Duties will include, but not exclusive to:
+ Triage of new referrals
+ Conducting Assessments
+ Supporting and being part of the Duty system within the Team
+ Individual Caseload holding and management
+ Delivering evidenced based mental health treatment interventions to young people both on a one-to-one basis and in group settings both face to face and using online mediums such as Attend Anywhere, Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
+ Multi-agency working; including working alongside families, acute hospital, primary care sector, social care, education and voluntary services
+ Active contribution in team meetings and reflective sessions so that the team can learn, grow, and improve the service we provide, The job can vary from day to day with no two days being the same. For us as a team to provide the best possible care that we can, it requires us to work together as a unit, to support each other, and to help each other grow and learn.
It is a challenging role but one that can also bring so many rewards. There is no greater moment than when you see a young person turn their life around and thrive, knowing that you played a part in facilitating that growth that has helped them to change
It can often be a difficult path to get to that moment with some young people and this is why the role requires great skills of communication, empathy, patience, strength, tenacity to name just a few. The mental health needs that we treat are wide and varied and each individual service user brings their own unique life story with them and this is something we have to respect and work in collaboration with them on.
Given the global pandemic and changes in working practices that we have all had to adopt, the team has embraced new ways of working which has both been a challenge but also enabled us to innovate. Hybrid working with some of the week being from home and other times at our base is encouraged especially where it meets the needs of the service users and enables the clinician to deliver effective interventions
We pride ourselves on looking after our staff and it is vital that we strike the right balance between working hard and achieving great results and establishing a good work life balance.
The job role will be varied so it is difficult to say exactly what it will be day to day which is in itself exciting. At times it will challenge you, inspire you, possibly frustrate you but ultimately it will be something you will not regret. We have a great team, full of passionate individuals who make a brilliant collective group, and if you feel that this is where you want to be then please do not hesitate to apply for this post and come and join us on our journey and make a difference in young peoples lives.
Within the Youth Team we pride ourselves on the care we give to both our service users and each other. You will find a positive and supportive environment with a strong team ethic. Our goals are to provide great care with great outcomes where we challenge ourselves to grow both individually as clinicians and collectively as a team, so that we can better meet the needs of the young people.
