Embedded Software Developer

The Opportunity

As an embedded software engineer you will:

  • Design and implement efficient real-time systems
  • Understand and apply new and emerging technologies
  • Work on diverse projects spanning a range of domains including Array Processing, Communications and Sensors

Skills

Ideally you will have:

  • Expertise in C and / or C++ for embedded development
  • Experience of unit and system testing
  • Expertise in embedded Linux platform development
  • Experience of modern DevOps practices, including version control and continuous integration
  • Knowledge of latest System on Chip (SoC) devices

It would be useful, but not essential, to have:

  • Expertise in development and implementation of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms
  • Experience of modelling / simulating algorithms using MATLAB
  • Expertise in FPGA firmware development using VHDL
  • Knowledge of latest open source frameworks OpenCPI
  • Knowledge of latest Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms

It would also be desirable to have an awareness of:

  • Electronic warfare
  • RF design
