Network Engineer, Abingdon, £45,000 - £55,000, plus car and bonus Our client are a leading IT Consultancy that prides itself on delivering efficient IT solutions to over four hundred sites nationwide, with a focus on exceptional customer service and lasting client relationships. Due to expansion, they are looking for a well-presented, customer-focused, and personable Network Engineer. You will play a crucial role in implementing and managing new projects and installations, providing on-site end-user support, and maintaining existing infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include problem analysis, documentation, and ensuring configurations are up to the highest standards.,

• Architecting scalable networking solutions based on individual business requirements.
• Creating network topologies and diagrams.
• Create recommendations for network hardware and software to improve service and profitability.
• Implementing new network technologies and upgrades.
• Monitoring network performance and identifying potential issues.
• Conduct problem analysis and investigation. Diagnosing and resolving complex problems.
• Ensure all systems are monitored and backed up at agreed intervals.
• Performing routine network maintenance checks.
• Provide/organise on-site end-user support.
• Implementing network security policies and best practices.
• Identifying and mitigating network vulnerabilities.
• Ensure security patches/firmware are tested and applied to maintain system security.
• Assessing network capacity and planning for future growth.
• Optimising network performance by analysing traffic patterns and making all necessary adjustments.
  
  Cisco Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Cisco routers and switches
• Networking: TCP/IP connectivity and IT security expertise
• Firewall configuration, management and reporting (Fortinet)
• Windows Server Administration: 2016, 2019, and Server 2022
• High-Level Communication Skills: Both written and verbal
• Virtualisation: Windows Hyper-V
• Active Directory/Azure AD Administration
• Windows/Microsoft focus: Azure, Office 365 & Intune
• Device Support: Windows 10/11 and Apple devices, experience with Intune, Apple, and Meraki MDM
• Backup Technologies and Disaster Recovery
• Microsoft SQL Server: Experience advantageous
