We work with the digital/data teams in Standards Testing Agency(STA) to design and build assessment platforms. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and optimize cloud-based infrastructure and deployment pipelines to support STA's assessment delivery platforms. Focusing on automation, scalability, and security, the role ensures seamless integration of both vendor solutions., + Cloud Infrastructure Design & Deployment: Design and implement scalable Azure-based infrastructure, leveraging services like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), App Services, and Logic Apps. Develop high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Site Recovery, Backup Vaults, and Load Balancers.
+ Automation & Continuous Delivery: Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration with tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
+ Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, including RBAC, AAD, and Azure Key Vault for secrets management. Monitor vulnerabilities using Azure Security Center, Defender for Cloud, and Sentinel, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards like FERPA and ADA.
+ Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for performance tracking and troubleshooting.
+ Optimise cloud resources with auto-scaling and cost-saving strategies.
+ Conduct load testing to ensure performance under peak traffic conditions.

Terms and conditions of candidates transferring from ALBs and NDPBs
Bodies that are not accredited by the Civil Service Commission and are not able to advertise at Across Government on Civil Service jobs will be treated as external new starters and will come into DfE on modernised terms and conditions with a salary at the band minimum.
Bodies that are accredited by the Civil Service Commission but do not have civil service status will be offered modernised terms and will not have continuous service recognised for leave or sickness benefits. Salaries should be offered at band minimum, but there is some flexibility where this would cause a detriment to the individual.
Bodies that are accredited by the Civil Service Commission and do have Civil Service status will be treated as OGD transfers. Staff will transfer over on their existing salary (on lateral transfer) and any pay above the DfE pay band maximum will be paid as a mark time allowance.
