Full Job Description

At Computacenter, we know that great service starts with great people. As an Installation Technician, you'll be part of a supportive, hands-on team that plays a vital role in delivering IT solutions to our customers. Whether you're setting up new hardware, connecting users to the network, or ensuring everything is ready to go, your work will help keep businesses running smoothly. You'll work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. From office moves to new tech rollouts, you'll be on the front line of IT delivery-supported by experienced colleagues and clear processes. If you enjoy practical work, problem-solving, and being part of a team that makes a real impact, this could be the perfect role for you. What you'll do

  • Unbox, install, and connect desktop hardware and peripherals at customer sites.
  • Perform basic power-on self-tests and initiate automated builds or scripted configurations (as defined by TRG).
  • Connect network cables from desktop clients to network points.
  • Support desktop moves, peripheral maintenance, and helpdesk call logging.
  • Maintain accurate records using systems such as ServiceNow.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

A current UK driving licence (essential).
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures with precision.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic IT literacy and numeracy.
  • Awareness of health and safety practices.
  • Flexibility to work varied days with notice.

With over 20,000 employees across the globe, we work at the heart of digitisation, advising organisations on IT strategy, implementing the most appropriate technology, and helping our customers to source, transform and manage their technology infrastructure in over 70 countries. We deliver digital technology to some of the world's greatest organisations, driving digital transformation, enabling people and their business.
