Full Job Description
Suffolk County Council is seeking a highly organised and motivated Assessment Assistant Co-Ordinator to support the Education, Health and Care (EHC) Assessment team. This role is vital in helping ensure that children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive timely, high-quality assessments and coordinated services.,
- Support the EHC needs assessment process, liaising with families, schools, and professionals.
- Assist with coordinating multi-agency contributions and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate records and case files, updating systems and databases accordingly.
- Monitor assessment progress and escalate delays or issues where necessary.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the SEND casework team.
- Respond to queries from parents, carers, and professionals in a timely and professional manner.
Experience in a coordination, administrative or support role within education, health, or local government. - Knowledge of SEND processes and statutory timelines (desirable).
- Strong IT skills and ability to manage caseloads efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
