Please note that we have two opportunities: one full-time fixed-term role to provide maternity cover and one part-time (0.5fte) permanent role.

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn't exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.

Our Human Resources (HR) Department has evolved significantly over the past few years, moving from an operationally based HR focussed service to an integrated strategic business partner model encompassing all strands of HR. We have a number of specialist teams in the department - Organisational Development, HR Business Partners, Diversity and Inclusion, Policy and Projects, Reward, Engagement and Wellbeing and the HR Resourcing and Operations team.

We are now looking for two HR Coordinators to join the HR Resourcing and Operations team where the successful applicants can make an immediate and positive impact on the services we deliver to our circa 3,000 employees, providing an efficient and proactive administrative service and acting as a first point of contact for HR queries across the employee lifecycle. We have one full-time fixed term role and one part-time (0.5fte) permanent role available.

These are fast-paced, primarily systems-based roles, responsible for maintaining accurate employee records and supporting a wide range of HR administrative processes requiring excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a high-volume operational workload. Alongside core administrative responsibilities, there will be opportunities to develop broader HR knowledge and experience through involvement in areas such as onboarding, visas and immigration compliance, and internal promotion processes.

You will have knowledge of HR practice and relevant experience in an HR environment, along with excellent customer service skills, strong digital competency, and experience of working with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams. Experience of using HR systems, in particular Oracle, would be advantageous. Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage workload within agreed timescales along with the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders are essential.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package, including generous annual leave, pension scheme membership, development opportunities, and family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting time to be in the university as we deliver the LJMU Strategy 2030 and its vision of LJMU as an inclusive civic university transforming lives and futures, by placing students at the heart of everything we do.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference within the HR department, we look forward to hearing from you. Please indicate in the application form which opportunity you would like to be considered for.

We would encourage applications from all individuals who meet the advert criteria, but would particularly encourage applications from men, ethnically diverse groups, LGBTQ+ groups, and disabled people as the department is underrepresented in these categories. The University is proud of its commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion and endeavors to cultivate a staff base that is representative of society. Please let us know if you require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.
