Full Job Description

The role sits within the Research and Enterprise Office at the University of Essex. The department supports researchers with securing, managing and reporting on grant funding for research. The Enterprise team, within which this role sits, manages the University's portfolio of knowledge exchange activity, including collaborative research with industry, and supports the commercialisation of research. Duties of the Role The successful candidate will work closely with the Innovation Partnerships Manager, Corporate Partnerships Manager, and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships team to support knowledge exchange activities at the University. Responsibilities include contributing to the scoping and development of new projects including administrative support for grant applications, and the potential to contribute to bid writing and development. The successful candidate will co-ordinate a varied portfolio of live projects and take the lead on processes such as the recruitment of project personnel. Additionally, they will service project meetings and maintain systems and data for project monitoring and reporting. A job share arrangement for this role can be considered.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, or have relevant equivalent experience. They will be an excellent administrator with considerable project co-ordination experience. The successful candidate will be able to manage relationships with a range of stakeholders with tact and diplomacy. They will be proactive and able to work independently. Excellent written and oral communication skills will be crucial in this role.
