There is a fantastic opportunity for a HCA to develop their skills in Trauma and Orthopaedics, delivering specialised care to Spinal patients and post operative orthopaedic patients within a supportive, friendly ward environment.
The successful applicant will be supported by our nursing team to build on and develop skills, including support with completion of care certificate, band 3 Clinical skills, pre and post operative care, and Spinal care.

If you have experience working in a fast paced, demanding role and you're looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you!, The main duties of the Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) - Clinical Care involve providing high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to patients under the supervision of registered professionals.
This includes assisting with personal care, nutrition, wound care, mobility, and infection control, as well as monitoring and recording vital signs, supporting patients with toileting and hygiene needs, and maintaining accurate documentation.
The role also involves communicating effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team, participating in audits and service improvement initiatives, supporting new staff and learners, and upholding NNUH's PRIDE values. Staff are expected to work flexibly across clinical areas while maintaining professionalism and adhering to Trust policies and procedures., + Demonstrates awareness of own professional responsibilities and upholds the PRIDE values consistently.
+ To demonstrate effective, clear and accurate communication with patients and their families, to ensure they are kept up to date with the plans for care.
+ To act as a positive role model at all times.
+ To understand duty of candour and speak with senior colleagues to discuss further if required.
+ To contribute to the development of local protocols and guidelines.
+ To identify patients at risk of skin damage i.e., moisture lesions, pressure ulcers, skin tears and be able to document skin condition and escalate to a registered professional.
+ To demonstrate accurate completion of patient documentation on both electronic and paper formats. This is throughout patient treatment and care journey, including admission and discharge.

Travelling to work
Staff parking is available onsite; however, this is limited during core working hours. We have more capacity in the evening and at weekends and can usually provide spaces during those hours.
We look to allocate these spaces fairly. Our Travel Office have a set of criteria that staff must meet in order to qualify. If you qualify for a space, you may be placed on a waiting list if we are at full capacity.
The NNUH is served by a number of public buses, and we offer generously discounted monthly passes with First Bus & Konect.
The Costessey Park and Ride runs regularly each day from 06:30 (from P&R) to 20:45 (from NNUH) and this service is free for NHS staff. There is a regular Thickthorn P&R service as well which is free. Applications to the Travel Office are required for this service. We also have a discounted service from the airport P&R if you purchase a bundle. Please see Konect website for further details.
The NNUH host multiple bicycle racks and a salary sacrifice scheme. We also benefit from a Beryl station onsite.

DBS
