Full Job Description
As Projects Finance Advisor, you will be responsible for the Digital Transformation Programme projects managed through the Projects ledger (also referred to as DTP projects). You will be the prime Research Accounts contact person for any queries relating to these activities. You will be responsible for the set-up and reconciliation of projects on Oracle Financials, reporting to management and relevant stakeholders, invoicing sponsors, and ensuring adherence to sponsors.
You will be able to prioritise a varied workload and work to tight deadlines, maintaining at all times a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Numeracy, communication skills, an ability to work effectively under pressure, and organisational skills are required. The role demands a high level of personal responsibility and initiative. The post-holder will be expected to develop a considerable level of expertise in departmental projects, coupled with a thorough understanding of the Projects module on Oracle Financials. This role Includes a requirement to be in the office for at least 1 day per week. The role is full time but a flexible working pattern may be available. About You
- Experience of working in a complex financial administration function with customer contact.
- Good accounting experience including proven skills in complex reconciliation, or the demonstrable ability to develop such skills.
- Evidence of high numeracy (ideally grade A at GCSE Mathematics) and the ability to grasp complex concepts.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong PC skills, in particular to an advanced level with spreadsheets.
- Ability to work as part of a team, backed up with good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines, and evidence of the ability to manage a wide caseload of projects and academic departments.
- Evidence of problem-solving skills. Desirable selection criteria
- Experience of a financial management system, such as Oracle Financials.
- Experience of grants or project accounting.
