Full Job Description

The successful candidate will contribute to the effective financial management of the Council by supporting the preparation and monitoring of General Fund budgets, assisting with the Council Tax setting process, and participating in the development of the Council's Medium Term Financial Strategy.

The role also involves providing financial advice and support to service managers, contributing to the preparation of statutory accounts, and supporting the Council's corporate transformation agenda., + Assist in the preparation of annual budget estimates and financial forecasts.
+ Support regular budget monitoring and reporting to senior management.
+ Contribute to the production of the Council's Annual Financial Report.
+ Provide financial guidance to cost centre managers and other stakeholders.
+ Participate in the completion of grant claims and statutory returns.
+ Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and regulations.
+ Undertake placements across various finance functions to gain a comprehensive understanding of the service.

Preferably a graduate or part-AAT qualified (or higher) although other candidates who meet the requirements of the person specification are also encouraged to apply, you should possess excellent communication skills, be driven for improvement and enjoy working within a team environment.
