Brief Description
We're looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join the Industry Finance team.
About the role…
We're looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Industry Finance team for 12 months. This team provides proactive, value-add finance support to business leaders across the rail industry. You'll work with senior leaders to identify, plan and meet the finance needs of the business. As the expert in the function on Efficiencies, you'll advise and positively challenge plans for budget holders which will be key to enable the best business outcomes are delivered. You will be responsible for providing robust professional recommendations and financial guidance on application of the Efficiency Frameworks for all our rail industry stakeholders to enable the organisations to be financially and legally compliant.
About the team…
The Industry Finance team are working to bring together industry costs and revenue, to create a trusted source of whole industry financial and business planning information. The team are developing the insight and analysis that is needed to manage whole industry finances, drive efficiencies and promote more joined up business decisions which better serve passengers, freight users and taxpayers.
What you'll bring
- Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant accounting body (CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW) or equivalent experience
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills at all levels. This should include Customers, 3rd party representatives, other business & functional leaders, and key support personnel.
- Successful relevant experience working in a complex financial environment including demonstrable experience in application of an efficiency framework, managing business risks, professional financial control, and forward planning.
- Demonstrable record of budget management, governance, and ability to understand and interpret commercial and financial landscapes (budgets, forecasts, actual status).
- Significant experience in managing ambiguity in a financial environment with strong evaluation and decision-making skills.
- Excellent technical Financial and Accounting knowledge and application of that knowledge in a complex and commercial environment.
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, for example accounting and finance, business management or equivalent demonstrable experience in finance.
This role is available on a 12 month Fixed-Term Contract basis.
