Full Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic, mid-career interdisciplinary researcher to devote a significant proportion of their time (0.2 to 0.4 FTE for 12-15 months, initially) to co-direct the Agile Initiative at the Oxford Martin School. For the right candidate, this could be a more senior appointment. The Co-Director will assist in leading the Agile Management Group (MG) alongside Prof Nathalie Seddon (current Director, who would become co-Director) and oversee the Agile programme management team (the 'Engine Room'). The MG reports to the Agile Executive Board, chaired by Professor Patrick Grant., While the post is initially fixed-term for 12-15 months (to January 2027), the intention is that, should follow-on funding be secured, this role would evolve into a more senior Director position as Professor Seddon steps back from the programme. Supporting this fundraising and transition will be a key part of the role. As such, we are looking for someone with the vision and ambition to help lead the next phase of Agile's development.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Prof Seddon: nathalie.seddon@biology.ox.ac.uk
The Oxford Martin School supports the University's commitment in fostering an inclusive culture which promotes equality and values diversity. We are eager to receive applications from a diverse pool of candidates.
This is an exciting career-enhancing opportunity to lead a fast-moving, interdisciplinary and impactful research programme, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council until January 2027, while also advancing research into the science-policy interface, research culture and systems change. Candidates should have a strong interest in the mission of Agile and expertise that complements that of Prof Seddon, whose background is in environmental science.
