Full Job Description
The Tactical Training Planner is responsible for the tactical deployment of training resources to meet the various requirements for Operations Training. Tactical planning and deployment is required for a variety of training activities, which includes but is not limited to Initial Training Organisation courses, specialist courses and simulator based training. Other duties include:
- Ensuring the production of robust and workable tactical rosters and plans to meet the demands of the Operations Training programme.
- Managing all tactical changes to training rosters and other training plans with the authority to resolve conflictions, identifying solutions and implementing the changes in conjunction with other rostering staff.
- Ensuring that any plan changes are managed and effectively communicated to other stakeholders.
- Resolving complex conflicts in resource requirements and offering viable solutions to meet service delivery requirements whilst ensuring that any local agreements or Working Practice agreements are met.
- Planning new and continuation training to ensure local competency is maintained and will meet the business demands.
- Coordinating annual leave requests and de-conflict where required.
- Submitting detachment requests to Operational Resource, to ensure correct operational staffing has been secured for planned training activities.
- Collaborative working alongside other Operations Training functions to ensure any changes and subsequent impacts are correctly captured and communicated.
- Deputising for Senior Tactical Training Planner as required, ensuring communication and engagement with Senior Planning Manager and other stakeholders.
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including but not limited to Excel and Word. - Ability to work to strict timescales, whilst being able to adapt quickly and easily to changing requirements.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to react positively under pressure to resolve problems and create solutions which continue to meet business requirements.
- Relevant planning or administrational experience is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and team working skills and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team, sharing knowledge and resolving issues as a team.
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels and demonstrate strong persuasive skills in any environment.
