Full Job Description

As Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

Overseeing specialist logistics operations with a focus on analysis, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Providing senior account management for key customer accounts.
Leading, coaching, and developing colleagues to deliver a strong performance culture, safe working environment, and effective succession planning.
Maximising driver resource availability through effective monitoring, communication, and utilisation of our Driver Management system.
Acting as a role model, ensuring all operations colleagues receive relevant training and development.
Liaising with internal teams to resolve issues on behalf of drivers, ensuring effective equipment management and collection processes.
Delivering performance against KPIs and budgets, analysing costs and developing initiatives to reduce expenditure while maximising service delivery.
Running team meetings and managing driver communications to keep field-based colleagues engaged and informed.
Holding regular meetings with Operational Account Managers to review performance and plan future development needs.
Producing accurate weekly and monthly forecasting in relation to customer volumes, resource mix, cost control, and financial performance.
Monitoring driver resource mix and creating recruitment plans aligned with service and financial requirements.
Taking accountability for operational performance, budget achievement, and service excellence., This is a fantastic opportunity to take a pivotal role in a business that underpins service performance and profitability across the UK. We're looking for a motivated, hands-on leader who can combine commercial awareness with strong people management skills. You will have:

Dedication, ambition, and the resilience to manage high work demands.
Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
Analytical skills with the ability to manipulate and present data clearly.
Proven leadership and people management experience, with a track record of motivating and developing teams.
A proactive, highly driven approach with full accountability for delivering results.
A current UK driving licence.
