We're seeking an experienced and highly organised individual to join our Business Development team, to build and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities. You'll take full ownership for generating profitable business across the South Coast from AXA's Southampton office. You'll use your expertise to build, manage and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including all key customers and networks to deliver strategy and increase opportunities for the business We're thrilled to be hiring for three key positions including a Business Development Manager and two roles within our dynamic Underwriting team. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at our Southampton office, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you'll be doing:

• Proactively develop strong relationships with a designated panel of brokers, taking full ownership for the generation and retention of profitable business.
• Build, manage and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop a robust pipeline of new business opportunities and ensure a long-term pipeline and broker engagement.
• Communicate the nature of the brokers' business, the marketplace and the potential of the relationship.
• Plan, forecast and set the operational targets to achieve the strategic development plan.
• Identify new deals and markets, assess feasibility and project manage the implementation.
• Effectively promote and deploy AXA's strategy, product range, propositions and key differentiators to leverage commercial opportunities.

• Business development experience within the Southampton commercial insurance market.
• Good understanding of underwriting and risk management principles.
• Established networking and relationship building skills.

• Mid-market knowledge and generation experience.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
