Leading meetings and presentations to clients and stakeholders engaging positively to achieve successful project outcomes.Working as part of a team, you will help manage client relationships with public sector agencies, city governments, international organisations, infrastructure operators and other organisations. This will involve providing advice to cities and regions in the UK and beyond on business case development for infrastructure / regeneration projects, strategies for inclusive and sustainable growth and providing strategy and management support. For example, advising clients to drive progress on a day-to-day basis on complex, long-term development projects set in highly political environments.Is this role right for you?We are looking for the following qualifications, attributes, and skills
- An undergraduate (achieved/predicted minimum of 2:1, or equivalent) or master's degree in economics, geography, real estate, public policy, business, or another built environment discipline such as town planning.
- Storytelling and written communication: You are able to: write clear and concise reports; prepare high-quality visual and written documents, presentations, and outputs that tell a compelling story; engage and influence audiences; and relay information in a concise and logically structured manner.
- Verbal communication: You are able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, and feel confident in delivering presentations, leading meetings and workshops.
- Numerical proficiency, research and analytical skills: You can analyse data, undertake qualitative research and synthesise information.
- Team working: you are an enthusiastic person, passionate about collaboration and bringing people together around a shared idea.
- Strategic and integrated thinking: You are able to interpret the needs of a wide range of stakeholders, take a strategic view on complex issues and deliver integrated solutions (i.e. recognising when to bring various types of technical expertise to the table).
- IT proficiency: You have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel and Powerpoint.
- You are a self-starter with good organisational and time-management skills.
- You have a clear interest in working on projects related to the built environment, specifically but not limited to urban regeneration, housing, transport and net zero. You also have an interest in current affairs relating to the sector. Useful but not required:
- Statistical analysis and data visualisation, and using software such as GIS and PowerBI software
- Economic modelling experience e.g. Cost Benefit Analysis
- Better Business Case Training.

Our Economics & Casemaking team provides strategy, planning, and economic consultancy services to a range of high-profile clients. We work across several sub-areas including transport, regeneration, economic development, skills and innovation, energy and environment, offering a variety of services including:Building the case for investment, authoring HMT Green Book compliant business cases.Economic appraisal, cost-benefit analysis and modelling.Vision, strategy and economic storytelling documents for regeneration, development and infrastructure proposals.Strategic advice on inclusive economic growth and innovation.Socio-economic baselining, context setting, data and trend analysis and research.Impact assessments, including environmental, socio-economic, equalities, and health for planning and policy.Evaluation and econometrics.Project delivery advice and management support.Our Economics & Casemaking team in the North comprises 10 members, as part of a national practice of over 50 members.
