The Built Environment and Mineral Surveyors Team (BEAMS) at the Valuation Office Agency are actively looking for enthusiastic and driven individuals to enhance its Operational Team.
Two positions are available for Operational Technicians to work alongside the Operational Lead and Technical Lead, reporting directly to the Development and Support Lead. The role involves providing support and conducting research to ensure the successful achievement of team goals and tasks. A proactive problem-solving mindset, Microsoft excel capability and strong communication skills are essential for facilitating the efficient execution of related activities.
These positions are critical in supporting chartered surveyors through the provision of technical and operational assistance. Key responsibilities encompass troubleshooting, researching, accurate input of surveying records/data and, maintaining and enhancing property data records, valuation/cost templates and databases. The roles will contribute to the overall productivity of the team and support the effective use of resources to improve business outcomes.
The role of the BEAMS Operational Technician has been strategically refined to enhance technical support and operational efficiency within the team. This role will provide assistance in a variety of work areas, aiming to optimise workflow and maximise the effectiveness of surveying operations.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with and learn from experienced Higher Executive Officers and surveyors, enhancing the workflow within the team. The selected individual will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn a wide range of work and have a genuine interest in the Agency's specialist surveying services. This role serves as a potential pathway to obtaining a professional qualification in our specialised surveying fields.
BEAMS Operational Technician - Key responsibilities
+ Conducting desk-based research for published data and information, inputting data into valuation data bases, BEAMS guides and or valuation template.
+ Preparing case work to support chartered surveyors with a work delivery, delivering operational targets.
+ Research information to support chartered surveyors with their work under takings.
+ Leveraging the capabilities of Excel spreadsheets facilitated a data-driven analysis, providing empirical support for the information under consideration.
+ Ensuring team efficiency and compliance by effective management and maintenance of email inboxes, coupled with the meticulous auditing and enforcement of BEAMS records and data storage protocols.
+ Effectively liaising with colleagues across the broader agency and engaging with external clients to acquire necessary information crucial for supporting and advancing BEAMS-related work areas.
There may be a need for occasional travel across the UK with some overnight stays required to support business needs. This can include but not limited to team meetings, training and visiting co-located team members., We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:
