Full Job Description
Transform HR, finance, and procurement across HMRC, DfT and MHCLG groups, creating a unified shared service which is user-centric, swift, and cost-effective. To bring this vision to reality I am seeking an experienced, visionary and dynamic Deputy Director Technology Design and Transformation to lead one of the government's most ambitious transformation programmes. This role is at the forefront of transforming corporate services, powered by the latest SaaS technologies.
The Deputy Director Unity Technology Design and Transformation will work closely with the Unity Programme Director and wider programme peers to deliver optimised and accessible tech solutions to the business and colleagues across finance, HR and procurement. This work requires close working with senior officials across the three Departments to deliver benefits from a standardised approach, and with Director Unity Business Services as the programme supports them to transform their business.
This high-profile role is part of the Government Major Programme Portfolio, meaning the successful applicant will be working closely with HMG's Infrastructure and Projects Authority. It demands a leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, champions inclusivity, and possesses a strong track record of establishing Shared Service organisations.
Your role will be instrumental in not just leading teams but inspiring them - fostering an environment where the best talent can flourish. With your guidance, Unity will not only achieve its goals but also enhance the experience for every customer it serves., As the senior leader for the technology pillar, you will sit at the very heart of this high-profile transformation, ensuring that corporate service technology becomes more effective in supporting of the 100,000 colleagues it will support. You will be responsible for:
+ Leadership. Operating with credibility across the cluster and the wider Civil Service (DSIT, CabO and HMT).
+ Implementation. Owning the implementation of the technology to support Unity operating in an agile manner at pace, including integrations from legacy technology to the new solutions.
+ Stakeholder Management. Managing a complex array of internal and external relationships with partners and suppliers, to ensure delivery and value for money.
+ Business Change. Working within the programme, ensure the successful migration to, and adoption of, new systems exploiting opportunities. Driving change and innovation across a substantial team.
+ Technical Leadership. Demonstrating your technical credibility to ensure best practise and fitness for purpose.
+ KPI Development. Working with OD, establish and track key performance indicators to measure the success of process improvement initiatives and make data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement.
As an established expert and leader within the field of SAP ERP systems (Finance, HR and Procurement), you will have extensive experience of guiding a large, multi-disciplinary team and through a significant period of change., + A Statement of Suitability (no longer than 2 pages/1500 words) demonstrating how your experience meets the essential criteria.

Shortlist:

This role has a minimum assignment duration of 3 years.
