Join us in a vital new role that will shape Thames Valley Police's response to the Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023 and the forthcoming Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill, and enhance the safety and well-being of children and adults at risk across the Thames Valley. In this strategic position, you will support building ever stronger partnerships between Thames Valley Police and partner agencies, promoting collaboration and ensuring our active involvement in Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements that protect the most vulnerable individuals in our communities.
The successful candidate will have experience of working within multi-agency safeguarding arrangements in strategic leadership roles within policing or other public sector organisations and the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation. Strong collaboration skills are required as well as being able to promote and facilitate cooperative efforts to deliver a high standard of service, including an ability to provide strategic direction.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required with the ability to present complex information effectively and confidently with personnel at all levels across various agencies, including volunteers, and in various forums e.g. public meetings, internal meetings. An in-depth understanding of key legislation, safeguarding policies and statutory responsibilities is required in relation to the welfare of children and adults at risk of abuse or neglect, as well as best practices in public sector governance and accountability requirements.
Strong analytical skills are required to provide strategic oversight and make informed decisions based on data and evidence from a variety of sources. Will be required to attend in person meetings across the three counties.
