We are seeking a customer focused and commercially minded person to join this team in the role of Relationship Manager.
You will provide dedicated customer service to a portfolio of clients with accountability for sales, service, risk and operational delivery. This role will have both external and internal stakeholders, Internal stakeholders may include Sales, Product Development, Risk & Compliance teams.
Your responsibilities will include:

-Face to face meetings with SME clients, with up to 70 clients in your portfolio.
-Managing portfolio income of approximately £1.5 - £2m and SME clients with a £2-15m turnover.
-Driving revenue growth through understanding customer needs and by adopting a needs-based approach which engages clients and increases new business.
-Growing the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network.
-Building a strong understanding of the client's business and industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations and deliver fair outcomes.
-Comprehensive understanding of the client through pro-active credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

-Experience of working in relevant environments, i.e. Business/Corporate Banking or Financial Services.
-Commercial Banking experience would be advantageous.
-Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs is essential.
-Commercial credit and lending experience would be advantageous.
-A passion for delivering excellent customer service and proactively looking for innovative ways to improve this service.
-Experience of building effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.
-Comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
This is a hybrid role with a base location of Newcastle and covering the North East and North Yorkshire areas.
