Full Job Description
Multi-Skilled Commercial Gas & Spraybooth Engineer | Sudbury | Full Time - 45 hours per week | £37,000 and £49,000 per annumDue to the continued successful expansion of both commercial enterprises, our client is currently looking to recruit highly experienced multi-skilled Engineers. Incorporated in 1968, our client provides supply, installation, service, and maintenance to Spraybooths throughout various paint spraying industries, including automotive, commercial, aerospace, and a significant number of Ministry of Defence contracts, throughout the UK.Additionally, celebrating 40 years in operation, the heating division supplies, installs, services, and maintains commercial heating and ventilation systems, with operations primarily in Essex and Suffolk. While current vacancies are focused on the East Midlands, our client is always interested in strong Engineers located throughout the UK.Please note- Although gas work forms a small part of the role, you will be required to hold a,
- Attend sites to undertake planned Service and Maintenance (PPM) for spraybooths from a range of manufacturers
- To attend reactive call-outs to investigate, diagnose and repair, to make safe/make good, replace parts, carry out repairs, refurbishments, and upgrades. You may be involved in the refurbishment of Spraybooths and commissioning
- Whilst on site, evaluate current equipment, propose any beneficial works, repairs, or upgrades, and report on the condition of the same
- You will proactively identify additional opportunities, services and requirements by engaging with the customer and building a relationship
- In addition, you will be required to identify additional new businesses, whom we may approach to promote our products and services
- There may also be a requirement to attend the Commercial Heating Customers, depending on your experience and the customer location, again, this could be planned service and maintenance or reactive call outs, repairs or new installations
Commercial Gas Engineer qualification.Are you the right person for the job? - Have a full UK Driving Licence
- Provide your Right to work in the UK, if applicable
- You will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant and recent Engineering experience
- Using your experience and knowledge, you will be able to diagnose, fault find, problem solve, and take responsibility for completing work in good order and on time
- Familiar with a varied workload, able to transfer your skills between service and maintenance and reactive works
- Strong all-round, skilled time served Engineer, with proven history within the same or similar role or industries
- Qualifications: Gas Safe qualified. Natural Gas & LPG, CDGA1, CIGA1, COCN1, CORT1, ICPN1
- Ideally hold an additional electrical qualification such as the IEE BS7671 18th Edition or equivalent, and/or experience in electrical maintenance and installation (e.g., EITB J02)
- You will be fully compliant and aware of current Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations
- Be able to work independently on your own initiative, or as part of a team, as required
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Be prepared to make early starts and stay away from home for short periods.
- Undertake training where necessary
- Be familiar with RAMS, permits to work, etc
- Articulate, you will be able to complete all company and regulatory documentation and reports, in an accurate, clear and concise and prompt manner
- Be reliable, have an excellent attendance and time-keeping record
