Full Job Description
AtkinsRéalis Nuclear are at the forefront of using digital technologies to improve the delivery of engineering projects, from using Extended Reality solutions for reviewing designs to using cutting edge robotics to autonomously survey hazardous areas. We are here to engineer a better future for our planet and its people. We are eager to find an apprentice to join our growing digital team within our digital lab collaboration spaces. The Digital Lab Technician role is an exciting opportunity to work with the latest technology, such as Extended Reality (XR) spaces, digital whiteboards, and collaboration areas, to support our clients and staff! You will also get the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders such as project managers, engineers, administrative staff and building caretakers, to name a few, as well as our wider Nuclear digital team, located across the UK and overseas. We have a growing number of digital labs around the world and are looking to welcome digital lab technicians to our team in Manchester, London and Bristol. Use the QR codes below to find out more. The role is combined with a Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship over the course of 12 months. As a paid, full-time and permanent member of our team, we'll support you from day one to help you reach your full potential, and you'll also have the time you need to focus on our studies. Supported by line managers, senior leaders, the Learning & Development team, mentors and the apprentice community, you're given the trust and flexibility to drive your own development. Your Purpose:
- Manage bookings and availability of zones within our digital lab, ensuring the space is appropriately set up to suit booking requests.
- Regularly check and maintain digital cameras, VR headsets, and laser scanners (amongst other devices).
- Work alongside our IT services and/or technology suppliers to resolve technical issues, including any on-site hardware and software issues.
- Monitor usage and identify opportunities for additional hardware or emerging technologies to be implemented.
- Collaborate with other teams to provide guidance on how to use the digital lab and encouraging utilisation.
- Collate and deliver information to support our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) content.
- Support in producing and delivering internal and external communications including multimedia training experiences, updating in line with feedback, learning from experience and implementation of new technology.
- Develop databases, if and where necessary to support digital lab activities that align with company information standards.
- Ensure data is accessible and compliant with information assurance and cyber security protocols., The UK is the first major economy to legislate for a Net Zero target by 2050. To achieve this, our Energy Teams are ensuring a mix of secure and sustainable energies that can meet our industry and lifestyle demands today, and in 30 years' time. We help to power our world through exciting new technologies and intelligent cybersecurity systems on projects that vary greatly in size, scope, and scale. So, you'll be creating the right safe and resilient systems across nuclear power, renewables, decarbonisation development, new builds and energy efficiency.
