Hourly Rate: £16.70 (Inclusive of 15% shift allowance)
Shift Pattern: Monday–Friday, rotating weekly
Shifts: 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00
Contract: Temporary

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Polisher to join a specialist automotive manufacturing business in Pontypool.

The RoleAs a Polisher, you will be responsible for correcting and finishing painted automotive components to a high standard, ensuring products meet the required quality and aesthetic expectations.

Your duties will include:

Using machine-operated polishers to rectify paint defects
Hand polishing and finishing where required
Preparing surfaces and correcting paint defects and contamination
Identifying and resolving surface imperfections
Working closely with the paint department to rectify defects
Following established production processes and build instructions
Completing quality checks and ensuring high standards are maintained
Maintaining good housekeeping and hygiene standards
Working to production deadlines and targets
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and product quality

About YouThe successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience in machine polishing, vehicle detailing or automotive finishing
Experience correcting surface defects and paint contamination
An understanding of paint finishes and paint thickness
Experience with external paint detailing and surface finishing
Excellent attention to detail
The ability to work to strict deadlines and production targets
A proactive and positive approach to work
Good communication and teamwork skills
The ability to follow SOPs and established processes

An automotive trade qualification in a related discipline, such as machine polishing or vehicle detailing, would be advantageous.
