We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Engineer to support the delivery of a major steam generation facility project in Barrow. This is a site-based project engineering role acting as the key interface between the construction installation teams and the engineering/design office, ensuring that all mechanical installation activities are executed in accordance with approved design intent, applicable codes, specifications, and project quality requirements.,

Act as the primary mechanical engineering interface between the design engineering team and site construction teams.
Ensure installation activities are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and design intent.
Review and interpret:
Provide field engineering support for:
Resolve site technical queries and coordinate design clarifications with engineering disciplines.
Support constructability reviews and identify potential installation clashes or design issues.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards and codes including:
Monitor subcontractor installation activities to ensure workmanship and compliance with engineering documentation.
Participate in walkdowns, inspections, punch listing, and turnover activities.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams regarding inspections, test packs, and mechanical completion requirements.
Support management of field changes and red-line markups for as-built documentation.
Interface with planning and construction management teams to support installation sequencing and progress reporting.
Promote safe systems of work and adherence to project HSE requirements.

The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of mechanical piping systems, structural steel erection, fabrication and installation processes, and be capable of interpreting engineering documentation including isometrics, GA drawings, and 3D engineering models. The role requires close coordination with construction, QA/QC, design engineering, and subcontractor teams throughout all phases of installation and commissioning preparation., Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Proven experience in a Mechanical Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or Construction Engineer role within heavy industrial, energy, nuclear, or process plant environments.

Experience supporting full installation lifecycle including:
Strong coordination and communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with quality documentation, ITPs, NCRs, and field change processes.
Site construction experience in highly regulated environments preferred.
Experience on steam generation, power, nuclear, or major industrial infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of NEC contracts and project delivery environments.
CSCS or equivalent site certification.
SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely qualification beneficial.
Experience using engineering model review platforms such as Navisworks or similar.
