Full Job Description
This role is 100% site-based, working closely with both internal teams and our customer who has an on-site presence with us managing complex, fast-paced engineering projects

So what will you do?
Contractual Oversight to interpret, assess, and manage complex commercial terms and conditions typically found in UK defence and MoD-related contracts (e.g., DEFCONs, flow-downs, liability clauses, indemnities, limitations, warranties)
Commercial Management leading the commercial aspects of high-value projects from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer expectation
Risk & Opportunity Management, identifying, assessing, and categorising commercial risks and opportunities; implementing mitigation strategies while ensuring contractual protections are in place
Scope Management, monitoring and managing scope creep, contract variations, and changes, ensuring the business is commercially compensated for additional work or deviations
Performance & Value Tracking to evaluate contract deliverables, KPIs, and performance metrics driving value management and ensuring projects are delivering profitable outcomes
Stakeholder Engagement through working closely with legal, project management, finance, and operations teams to ensure full understanding and adherence to commercial obligations and rights
Leading or supporting on negotiation & strategy with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure favourable terms and commercial outcomes
Someone Degree qualified or equivalent in a commercial, legal, quantity surveying, business, engineering or related discipline
Demonstrable experience in commercial management, preferably in heavy engineering, defence, or infrastructure
A deep understanding of UK defence contracting principles, ideally including familiarity with MoD, Defence Equipment and Support, and prime contractor frameworks
Experience in contract interpretation, negotiation, and variation management
The ability to analyse and interpret complex contractual and financial information
Strong knowledge of commercial risks, liabilities, indemnities, caps, and exclusions
Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
