Proactively patrol the district to monitor and enforce environmental laws, ensuring compliance with regulations related to waste disposal, parking, abandoned vehicles, and public space protection.
Work with law enforcement agencies to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Actively involved in public awareness campaigns and provide education on environmental responsibility.
Engage with local businesses, residents, and community groups to promote sustainable practices and legal compliance.
Work closely with bailiffs and legal teams to manage unauthorised encampments
Engage confidently with the public, handling confrontational situations professionally.
Provide specialist environmental protection functions across the district, ensuring adherence to UK environmental legislation.
Conduct enforcement procedures, issuing necessary enforcement notices/actions to individuals and businesses.
Investigate and manage enforcement cases, preparing reports and evidence for legal proceedings.
Collaborate with key agencies such as West Mercia Police, the Environment Agency, and Worcestershire County Council to promote effective enforcement.
Respond professionally and efficiently to customer inquiries and complaints.
Identify and address issues related to environmental protection.
Ensure the appropriate use and maintenance of Council vehicles, uniforms, and enforcement equipment.
Maintain accurate records of enforcement activities, incidents, and investigations., The role is offered on a 24 month fixed term contract and will require you to work flexibly on a rota basis covering a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings. Some Bank Holidays and Christmas working also applies.
The role will require a substantial amount of walking and for the majority this is a lone workers post. All training and equipment will be provided.
Whilst the role can be challenging , it is also extremely rewarding in working towards a cleaner and safer environment.
Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings.
