The Service is currently recruiting for a Temporary Group Commander - Barnstaple Response Group on a fixed term basis until 31 January 2026. Expressions of interest are invited from those interested in the role as either a lateral move or a promotion opportunity. From 1 April 2024, we have introduced development rates of pay for any new individuals moving into a development or an acting-up role. These pay rates are set out by the National Joint Council., Applications are invited from suitably experienced and qualified Station Managers and Group Managers. Eligible applicants will need to meet the following criteria as a minimum:

• Be a competent Station Manager
• Qualified L2 ICS & PRDC
• If applying as a promotion, have been successful in the Temporary Group Manager promotion board
• Have good leadership skills.
• Not subject to formal performance improvement actions, nor have any live disciplinary sanctions.
