Full Job Description
Post: Director of MFL (North West) Contract Type: Permanent Salary Range: Leadership Range L14 - L18 (£68,586 - £75,674 FTE) Working Type: Full Time Base: A Northern Education Trust Academy in the North West of England (travel between secondary academies is required weekly) Please note: the post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender's act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. Northern Education Trust (NET) is a charitable education Trust with a good track record for school improvement. The Trust sponsors 30 academies; 17 secondary and 13 primaries across the North of England in fourteen Local Authority regions. An important part of the trust's strategy for school improvement is to grow the capacity for specialist outstanding practitioners. You will be able to demonstrate successful leadership with significant curriculum experience in Languages. You will have a proven track record of examination success and be able to evidence that you are a consistently outstanding teacher who can demonstrate and model the qualities required for this key leadership role. As Director of MFL, you will be expected to play a key role in working with curriculum leaders and teachers and assist in accelerating the pace of improvement in our academies within the trust, particularly those in the North West of England. This is an exciting role for exceptional candidates with the drive to lead and to enhance standards of Languages across our secondary academies. You will help shape the curriculum in order to ensure outstanding teaching and learning. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven and passionate historian to join our highly successful and growing director team. An excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject, as well as the GCSE and A-Level specifications is essential. As Director of MFL, you will report to and be supported in your role by the Senior Director of MFL and together you will play a vital part in determining, leading and refining the quality of education within our secondary schools. You must have a personable nature, with the diplomacy and versatility to build connections with a wide range of stakeholders. You must possess a relentless focus on standards, embracing our Trust vision: 'Outcomes Focused, Child Centred.' Although you will be based at a trust academy in the North West, providing you with an opportunity to be part of a leadership team, travel across the trust academies will be necessary in supporting curriculum leadership and teacher development throughout the trust. Northern Education Trust offers:
- The opportunity to work and progress across the family of schools, should you wish in the future;
- The chance to apply for leadership roles in the Deeps structure taking on a whole school leadership project;
- The support and expertise of the executive team and the Senior Director of Subject.
- A full and detailed programme of support and development for all;
- A further comprehensive programme of professional development, including leadership, provided through the NET Staff College. Employee benefits
