Full Job Description
Graduate Performing Arts Assistant 36 hours per week, 34 weeks per year We are seeking to appoint a Graduate Performing Arts Assistant on a fixed term contract basis to join our team at Worth School in September 2025. This role is a fixed term contract for 1 year working 36.0 hours per week, term-time only. The successful applicant will provide support to the Music and Drama departments through assisting with department administration, marketing of events, supervision of pupils, assistance at evening events (for example with concerts and plays) and teaching assistant support in rehearsals and in KS3 lessons. Onsite accommodation may be provided to the successful candidate, subject to availability. As the Graduate Performing Arts Assistant, your responsibilities would include:
- Acting as the central point of contact for the Music and Drama departments for communications from parents, pupils, visiting Music staff, other staff and other schools.
- Ensuring effective communications of department events to parents and respond to routine emails and telephone queries.
- Dealing with routine administration of pupils' Music/LAMDA lessons and liaising with visiting Music/LAMDA staff.
- Managing the Department Database (using Furlong's Maestro software), used for collating timetables of Music/LAMDA lessons.
- Ensuring timetables of individual Music/LAMDA lessons are collated each week and sent out to pupils/parents/staff and posted on the Music department noticeboard. What we are looking for:
- Qualification in music and/or drama (e.g. A-Levels/BTEC, HNC, HND, NVQ) (essential)
- Effective IT skills (essential)
- Demonstrable interest in drama and/or music (e.g. music or drama GCSE and/or A Level, music/drama experience) (essential)
- Interest in gaining experience working in a school environment(essential)
- Music and/or drama undergraduate degree (desirable)
- Experience of using Database software (desirable)
- Prior experience working in a school environment (desirable)
