Full Job Description
The Role: This is a really exciting opportunity to join not only a thriving school but also a very high-performing Trust with a national profile. We welcome applications from aspiring leaders, whether you're an experienced teacher ready for your next step or a current Second in Department seeking a new challenge. Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students? Do you have the vision and drive to contribute to the leadership of the Science department in a dynamic and supportive school environment? Are you highly motivated and focused on making a positive impact? If so, we have a unique and exciting opportunity for you! Salford City Academy is seeking a dedicated and proactive Second in Science to join our forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing, experienced Science department with a strong track record of success. As Second in Science, you will support the strategic direction of the department, working closely with the Head of Science to drive improvement and raise its profile. Key responsibilities include enhancing teaching and learning, supporting student outcomes, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to performance management. You will also play a key role in the Academy's flagship STEM initiative, the Pioneer Programme-supporting its accelerated curriculum and coordinating enrichment activities. The successful candidate will inspire and challenge students, ensuring the programme continues to stretch high achievers and promote academic excellence.
