Summary
The University of South Wales is a vibrant and exciting place to work which offers a range of benefits including 35 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), Flexible working, Parental Leave, Childcare facilities, Sport facilities and an excellent pension.
A key enabler for the University's 2030 strategy is operational transformation that states we will:
- Support and take pride in our focused, talented and ambitious staff.
- Maintain an inclusive workforce, champion diversity, foster collaboration and well-being.
- Provide flexible, digitally enhanced environments to encourage innovative teaching, research & collaborative work practices.
- Embrace effective and efficient service delivery to support long-term sustainability.
- Grow and diversify our income to generate surpluses for re-investment in our core purpose.
The University's IT Services support delivery of this strategy by providing high quality technology, solutions and services to support the web presence, corporate, learning and teaching, and research operations of the University and we have a proven record in responding to customer needs using innovative and evolving technologies.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Solution Architect to join the Development and Delivery area of IT Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing data solutions that support the work of the operational transformation, working closely with the existing functions of development, architecture and application management and support.
This is a full time, permanent post.
The University is currently operating a hybrid-model of working. However, the successful candidate would be expected to work on campus for part of the week.
If you are a successful candidate and this position will be your first professional services role at the University (or you are currently employed by PSS Ltd), you will be employed by Professional and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges.
USW is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All those working at the University are expected to share this commitment.
We are committed to employing a diverse workforce and creating an inclusive environment. Where colleagues can be themselves and every person is treated with dignity, fairness and respect. We actively encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and communities, especially with regards to age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, race and religion and/or belief. We benchmark our success through equality accreditations with Athena Swan, Race Equality Charter, Stonewall and Disability Confident.
If you're a Welsh learner or a Welsh speaker, we'd be delighted to receive your application. At USW, you'll have access to Welsh courses to enable you to develop your Welsh skills further, in order to provide a bilingual service to our students, colleagues and the public.
We welcome applications in Welsh and English. Applications in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than those made in English.
