Full Job Description
The Science Department is a hardworking and forward-thinking team made up of 6 teachers and a full-time technician. Our excellent relationships enable us to work effectively as a team and share resources to ensure the best experience for all students. We are always looking at how we can further improve the quality of education within science, whether through accessing high quality CPD to improve teaching and learning or continually reviewing and refining the curriculum so that all students achieve success. We bring this to life through the engagement and enrichment opportunities we offer, as well as ensuring students are exposed to different STEM careers within each topic. - A passion for Science, and a thirst to develop pupils and self as
- lifelong learners in the subject
- Ability to teach engaging, well-sequenced and adapted lessons
- Demonstrable experience of improving student outcomes
- Ability to use ICT effectively to support learning
- Experience of teaching groups of pupils and pupils of all abilities
- Collaborative teaching methods and working with colleagues in the
- preparation, assessment and monitoring work
- Experience as a form tutor and/or pastoral work
- Experience as GCSE Examiner
- Experience of leading/taking part in an extracurricular Science activity Skills:
- Must be well organised
- Excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to work hard under pressure while maintaining a positive,
- professional attitude
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload and work on own initiative
- Excellent evidence-led creative teaching ability Knowledge & Understanding:
- National Curriculum for Science at Key Stages 3-4
- Understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023 Part 1
