Full Job Description
Working closely with the Nursery Manager, the Deputy Manager will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery, leading a team of practitioners to provide high-quality care and early education in line with the EYFS framework. The service is proud of its welcoming environment, where each child is seen as an individual and staff are supported to thrive.,
- Support the overall management of the nursery and step in during the Manager's absence
- Lead by example to ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children
- Mentor and support staff, helping to develop their confidence and skills
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, encouraging open and positive communication
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and regulatory standards
- Contribute to planning and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum
- Play an active role in staff recruitment, inductions, and training
Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or above) - essential - Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, or a very experienced Room Leader/Third in Charge looking to step up
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and Ofsted expectations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Passionate about early years education and committed to continuous improvement
- A positive, hands-on approach and a genuine love for working with children
