Full Job Description
We are looking for exceptional and inspirational teachers who takes pride in their work. The successful candidates will be required to undertake teaching duties in the disciplinary area of politics and international studies, broadly defined. They will have the ability and willingness to act as Module Director and teach on UG and PGT level modules including but not limited to PO107 Introduction to Politics, PO131 World Politics and PO102 Political Research in the 21st Century.
They will also supervise dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The department recognises the importance of research to teaching practice and the successful applicant will be supported to develop their research profile within the framework of the role.
You will possess an honours degree or equivalent, and a PhD or equivalent (awarded or near completion) in a relevant discipline. You will have a commitment to the use and development of innovative teaching methods and e-learning techniques within the classroom and to valuing diversity in, and promoting an inclusive approach to, teaching.
You will demonstrate a track record of, or reflective engagement with, advancing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in the workplace, including efforts to promote gender and racial equality. A demonstrable commitment to inclusive teaching practices-particularly in relation to supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds, including those with disabilities and the implementation of reasonable adjustments-is essential. Experience with decolonising the curriculum and anti-racist, intersectional, or other critical pedagogical approaches is highly desirable.
