Full Job Description

At OFG, we work smarter so you can spend more time doing what makes you happy!

How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four*?

Our colleagues’ wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at OFG, so we’re always looking for new ways to improve everyone’s work/life balance. We’re taking part in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning that you could be working one day less a week (or equivalent).

4DWW will be rolled out within our school, when we have a full complement of staff, and within the next year – so there’s never been a more exciting time to join us #teamOFG!

Job Title:  Lifeskills Teacher

Location: Baston House School, Bromley, BR2 7AB
Salary:     £35,000 – £46,000 per annum (dependent on experience, not pro rata)
Hours:      37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start Date: October 2025

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Lifeskills Teacher to join our close-knit team at Baston House School located in Bromley.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and creative Lifeskills Teacher to join our dedicated team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality education specifically for pupils diagnosed with Autism (ASC), helping them develop practical skills, independence, and confidence in a supportive and structured setting.

You will plan and deliver a curriculum that combines functional academics, vocational learning, and personal development, tailored to the sensory, communication, and social needs of autistic learners. Lessons may include independent living, money management, communication, health and wellbeing, community engagement, and career preparation.

You will collaborate closely with therapists, support staff, and families to ensure each pupil has access to personalised, meaningful learning opportunities that address their individual strengths and challenges. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of pupils with Autism (ASC) and prepare them for successful transitions into adulthood.

  • Can differentiate the curriculum to ensure access and engagement for pupils with a range of abilities and learning profiles
  • Is empathetic, patient, and collaborative, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to support each pupil’s holistic development
  • Values celebrating progress and achievements, no matter how small, and fosters a nurturing, inclusive learning environment

Experience teaching PSHE, vocational studies, or ASDAN qualifications is advantageous but not essential. We welcome applicants from diverse teaching backgrounds who share our passion for supporting autistic learners to thrive.
