Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join a large, successful A level Biology department on a casual basis.,

  • To work with the team to deliver A level Biology and L3 Medical Sciences, candidates should possess a suitable biology degree and ideally have experience of teaching A level Biology.
  • To plan, prepare and teach A Level Biology ensuring schemes of work and assessments are appropriate to the exam board specification.
  • To ensure teaching and learning strategies and teaching materials are planned to meet the varied needs of learners.
  • To keep up to date with curriculum developments, subject knowledge and innovations in teaching and learning.

    Based at the Gorseinon Campus the successful candidate will also possess a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one., Possess a relevant degree and have a teaching qualification or be prepared to work towards one.
  • Are able to demonstrate a passion for the subject.
  • A very confident communicator and committed individual who can engage and inspire learners of all abilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a team player.
  • The ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of learners.

  • £17.53 - £34.51 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • You will have no fixed working hours, and will work on an ad hoc basis, providing sickness cover or temporary cover
  • You will be paid a month in arrears e.g. any hours that you work in September, will be paid in October, and so forth
