We are looking for experienced drivers with geographical knowledge of County Durham to join our Fleet and Transport Response Centre section. WHAT IS INVOLVED? You will ensure that the Service's passenger carrying vehicles are driven safely and competently, and that passengers receive a good level of service during their journey. That the service operated gives the right level of reliability and punctuality. To ensure that vehicles are treated with care and the County Council's investment is used to best effect. • Current full Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) Licence

You should have knowledge of relevant passenger transport legislation and regulations and significant relevant experience of driving a range of passenger carrying vehicles. Please refer to the attached person specification for the full criteria. If successful, you will be required to undertake and pass an in-house driving assessment as part of our pre-employment checks before any offer of appointment can be confirmed. If successful, you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.

Number of 'teaching' weeks - 38 weeks; plus
• Public (bank) holidays - 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years' service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years' service will receive 32 days annual leave.
